The Stylish Noggins Story
In 1994, Kari lost her hair due to a genetic autoimmune condition, called alopecia. Alopecia causes the immune system to attack the hair follicles, preventing any hair growth.
After wearing wigs constantly for two years, she decided to find an alternative that better fit her lifestyle and attitude.
"Wearing a wig felt like I was trying to make everybody else feel more comfortable," she recalls. "Wigs work well for a lot of women, but I needed something different."
Experimenting with hats and scarves, her sense of style emerged, and Stylish Noggins was born.
Her mission is to help other women suffering from hair loss, whether from alopecia or chemotherapy, find their own inner sense of style, whether it focuses on hats and scarves, wigs, or both.
"You are not alone. You don't have to hide. There is a beauty and a strength in being yourself. And we are here to help."
When you are faced with losing your hair, it is reassuring to know that there is someone else out there, who knows exactly how you feel.

Individualize your hats by adding a scarf. Scarves add color and volume to your look, and become a personalized fashion statement.
When choosing a scarf, concentrate on the COLOR SCHEME rather than the pattern . . . once you tie on the scarf, the pattern disappears and only the colors remain as a complement to your outfit.

Kari's compassion overwhelmed me. When I saw how comfortable she was without hair, it wasn't as painful to think of myself bald. And she made it so easy. - Traci S.
It was so helpful to have someone to talk to about losing my hair, and Kari made sure that I was comfortable with how to tie scarves before we were done. A few days later, when the hair was actually gone and I was freaking out, we talked on the phone, which really helped.
- Julee B.
I was looking for something to wear when I didn't want to wear my wig, but I had no idea what to do. I found Kari, and she really helped me put together some cool styles for my head. Now I have twice as many options. - Mary K.
